Shipping Information

Live Organisms

Live organisms must be either picked up or shipped Overnight.

Picking Up Live Organisms

PLEASE NOTE: We are not taking additional orders for monarch eggs or larvae at this time. As of August 3, 2009, we have received as many orders as we will be able to process for this fall. If we have additional eggs or larvae available after Sept 13, we will post a notice here.

Orders for monarch eggs and larvae can be picked up from our lab on the St. Paul campus of the U of M beginning August 24th through September 15th.

During Order Checkout, please specify the following information in the Order Notes:

  1. Date and Time you will pickup the order (Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm)
  2. Who will be picking up the order (if not you)

Shipping Live Organisms

PLEASE NOTE: We are not taking additional orders for monarch eggs or larvae at this time. As of August 3, 2009, we have received as many orders as we will be able to process for this fall. If we have additional eggs or larvae available after Sept 13, we will post a notice here.

Orders for monarch eggs and larvae will be available for shipping from our lab beginning August 24th through September 15th.

Live organisms need daily care and will not survive the long delay of standard mail. Therefore we send all live organisms via overnight Fed Ex.

During Order Checkout, please specify the following information in the Order Notes:

  1. Date you wish to RECEIVE the order via Overnight shipping (Tuesday through Friday dates only -- except no shipments on the Tuesday after Labor Day)

Please make sure someone is available to receive the package when it is delivered.

Live organisms and other materials MUST be shipped separately (or picked up). Please do NOT order Live organisms and other materials on the same online order. If you wish to order both live organisms and other materials, please place two separate orders.

Other Materials

Other materials (not Live Organisms) will be shipped via UPS Ground or US Mail, depending on the size and weight of the package.
