| 25 | Several weeks ago there were 8-10 monarch larvae in my butterfly milkweed. Yesterday we saw a monarch butterfly. Today I discovered 5 more larvae in instar 1 and 2. I realize that the appearance of the butterfly and the larvae is just coincidence. But is the appearance of 5 more larvae 2-3 weeks after the other larvae have completed their cycle on the same bush unusual? I am located in Cincinnati, Ohio. |
